In the Bible thanksgiving is an attitude, not a holiday, that is to be demonstrated at all times, long after the dinner guests have gone home and the leftovers have been put away. But suppose we are having a bad day, perhaps a bad week, or worse still, a bad year. Maybe we’re undergoing physical problems; perhaps we’re struggling financially; maybe we’re at the end of our rope emotionally. Does that excuse us from being thankful? From Israel’s experience at the Red Sea we see why we can and should always be thankful.
