A quick internet search reveals that there are 42 National Monuments, 30 National Memorials, and 40 Presidential Memorials, as well as countless state and local monuments and memorials for people like politicians, athletes, and inventors; for events like battles, discoveries, and disasters; and for places like battlefields, forts, and childhood homes. With hundreds upon hundreds and possibly thousands of monuments and memorials throughout our nation, this sermon looks at why there is a need for such monuments and memorials.
