If you have ever felt discouraged and defeated, you will be able to identify with Elijah who in spite of the victory over the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel and the subsequent cloudburst became so disappointed and discouraged when the victory wasn't as decisive as he had expected that he was ready to give up and call it quits. In this sermon we look at the events recorded in 1 Kings, chapter 19, to see the importance of perseverance or staying the course since extraordinary things are accomplished by ordinary people who remain in the battle.
