When it comes to the purpose of the church, different people have different ideas, and though there are a ton of ideas out there, it’s important to remember the church is Christ’s Church, not ours. He founded the Church, died for the Church, sent His Spirit to the Church, is building the Church, and will someday return for His Church. As the owner of the Church, Christ has already established its purpose; and we need to understand the purposes He has for the Church so we are focusing on the proper things that will allow our local church to be what He wants it to be. This sermon examines the first purpose of the church - worship - and uncovers its great importance.
